ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police on Monday filed murder charges against a man who brutally hacked dead a neighbor with mental defect in Barangay Santa Rita, Dumalag, Capiz.
The case was filed against Rico Feca also of Brgy. Santa Rita Dumalag before the Provincial Prosecutors Office.
The suspect admitted killing Michael Fuyonan, 36, Saturday evening.
Fuyonan succumbed to 31 hack wounds in the head, neck and different parts of the body.
Feca told the police that he was very angry with Fuyonan for punching him a few weeks ago.
He said he alone committed the crime.
Investigation by the Dumalag Municipal Police Station indicated that the incident happened when an unidentified person stoned Fuyonan’s house.
When he went out to check who was responsible for the attack, the suspect approached and hacked him with a bolo.
The victim was brought to a hospital where he was declared dead.
