BACOLOD City – A man who was reported missing last Tuesday after he drowned in a river was found dead at Barangay Singcang-Airport here yesterday.
Police identified the fatality as Rico Mirasol Sr., 56, of Barangay Mansilingan.
Captain Armilyn Vargas, head of Police Station 8, said a fisherman found Mirasol’s body floating along the shore past 7 a.m.
The victim suffered a lacerated wound in his forehead when he drowned, Vargas added.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, public information officer of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said there was also a report that a male teenager was reported missing on the same day while swimming with his friends in another river here.
Pico said that it was not raining that day, but the river current was strong which probably swept away the teenager.
