Man wanted for sexual assault nabbed
ROXAS CITY, Capiz A long wanted for the crime of sexual assault and violations of Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) spent his New Year in jail following his arrest morning of Jan 1, 2019 in Janiuay, Iloilo.
Rodulfo Sarandona, 59, of Brgy. Jaena Norte Jamindan, Capiz was collared at about 9:30 a.m. by the Jamindan Police Station, 603rd Mobile Force Company, and Regional Mobile Force Bureau (RMFB-6) at the house of a relative in Guadalupe Janiuay.
Sarandona suspect is facing three counts of sexual assault and violation of beforethe sala of Regional Trial Court Branch 20 Judge Esperanza Isabel Poco-Deslate in Mambusao, Capiz.
The court recommended a P680,000 bail bond for the four cases.
Sarandona is presently detained at the lock up cells of Jamindan police station.
Farmer stabbed dead in Dao
In Dao, Capiz, a farmer died after he was stabbed by a drinking evening of Jan 1 at Barangay Duyoc.
Police identified the victim as Edison Demalata Jr., a resident of said place.
Investigations by the Dao Municipal Police Station indicated that Demalata and his relatives were drinking liquor in their house when an altercation ensued between him and a certain Igdanes.
The suspect identified as Peligio Demalata, 48, came in and pacified the dispute. The suspect later went inside his house and when he came back, he wielded a knife and stabbed the victim.
The victim was brought to Sen. Gerry Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao town but died hours later.
Peligio suspect voluntarily surrendered to Punong Barangay Nestor Lachica of Duyoc and was turned over to Dao PNP.
