ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A man wanted for murder was arrested Thursday afternoon, Dec. 18, in Poblacion Ilaya, Maayon, Capiz, after 11 years in hiding.
Maayon police identified the suspect as Diony Obales Debaoden, also known as “Jun Debaodin,” 45, of Barangay Cabungahan, also in Maayon.
Debaoden had been evading arrest since March 25, 2014, when Regional Trial Court Judge Esperanza Poco Deslate of Branch 19 in Roxas City issued a warrant for his arrest.
The court did not recommend bail for his temporary liberty.
The suspect allegedly fled after being charged with the murder of a townmate.
Police recently confirmed his presence at a relative’s residence in Poblacion Ilaya, where they immediately served the warrant.
Debaoden is currently in the custody of the Maayon Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
