ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 38-year-old man wanted for illegal gun possession was arrested by police Wednesday afternoon at Brgy. Binuntucan, Pontevedra, Capiz.
Operatives of the Pontevedra PNP, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Capiz Provincial Field Unit (PFU) and CIDG Regional Special Operation Team (RSOT)-6 nabbed Ernie Batuigas at his house in Brgy. Binuntucan.
The warrant for his arrest was issued by Judge Rommel Lacson Leonor of the Regional Trial Court Branch 21 in Mambusao Capiz on Aug 2, 2022.
The suspect is facing a case for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
The court recommended a P36,000 bail for his temporary liberty.
Meanwhile, a 39-year-old construction worker was also collared for theft at Brgy. Lawaan here.
Albert Dalida alias of Bayot Drive in Brgy. 9 here did not resist when police served the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Jennie Ann Tayag Logronio of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branch 1, Roxas City.
A P10,000 bail had been recommended for his temporary liberty.
He is now detained at Roxas City Police Station.
