ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A man wanted for grave threat was arrested by police Tuesday evening, Feb. 18, in Barangay Población, Dumalag, Capiz.
The Dumalag PNP served the warrant of arrest against alias “Junior,” a resident of Barangay Dolores in the same town, for two counts of grave threat in relation to Republic Act 1076.
Judge Judith D. Orendain-Tonogbanua of the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 20, Mambusao, Capiz, issued the warrant on Feb. 18, 2025. The court recommended a P36,000 bail for his temporary liberty. He is currently in the custody of the Dumalag PNP for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, two individuals are facing charges for illegal fishing after they were caught in the seawaters of President Roxas, Capiz, on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 16.
The suspects, identified as alias “Rey” and “Ben” of President Roxas town, were caught conducting illegal fishing activities without the necessary permit.
Authorities confiscated a pump boat worth P120,000, a fishing net with complete accessories valued at P10,000, and 10 kilos of assorted fish worth P3,500.
The two suspects were charged on Monday, Feb. 17, for violating Municipal Fishery Ordinance No. 38, Series of 2011, Section 69, which prohibits illegal fishing using trawl.
The confiscated items were turned over to the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO)-LGU President Roxas for proper disposition.
