Man wanted for child abuse arrested in Roxas

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A man wanted in connection with a child abuse case was arrested Thursday afternoon, July 23, in Barangay Tanza, Roxas City.
Police identified the 39-year-old suspect only as alias Nonoy, a resident of the village.
Regional Trial Court Judge Joan Marie Betita of Branch 14 in Roxas City issued the arrest warrant July 17, 2026.
The suspect was released from the custody of the Roxas City Police Station after posting PHP 10,000 bail for his temporary liberty.
Child abuse cases may be prosecuted under Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, although the original report did not specify the law allegedly violated.
