Man wanted for child abuse arrested in Dumalag, Capiz

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 35-year-old man wanted for child abuse was arrested Tuesday evening in Barangay San Roque, Dumalag, Capiz.
The Dumalag Philippine National Police station, led by Police Maj. Amie Bulaquina, served the warrant of arrest at his house around 6:12 p.m. against alias Barok, single and a resident of the area.
The warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Rommel Lacson Leonor of Branch 21 in Mambusao, Capiz on Feb. 24, 2026.
The suspect faces charges for violating Sections 5(a) and 5(i) of Republic Act No. 9262, also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
The court recommended bail of PHP 300,000 and PHP 2,000 for his temporary liberty.
Republic Act 9262, enacted in 2004, defines and criminalizes various forms of violence against women and their children, including physical, sexual, psychological and economic abuse. It provides protective measures for victims and prescribes penalties for offenders.
He is presently under the custody of the Dumalag PNP station for proper disposition and court referral.
