ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A man wanted for child abuse was arrested Wednesday morning, Feb. 4, after disembarking from a passenger plane at Roxas City Airport.
Personnel from the Roxas City Aviation Security Group and the Roxas City Police Station assigned at the airport served the warrant of arrest against the suspect, identified only by the alias “Jun,” 29, a resident of Roxas City.
The suspect faces charges for violating Section 5(b) of Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
The warrant of arrest was issued by a Pasig City family court after authorities tracked the suspect’s movements.
Police said the suspect was taken to the Roxas City Police Station for documentation and will be transferred to the court of origin for further proceedings.
In a separate operation, another suspect wanted for murder and frustrated murder was arrested Wednesday morning, Feb. 4, in Poblacion, Pilar, Capiz.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Leonel,” is of legal age and a resident of Barangay Tabun-acan, Pilar.
The warrant of arrest was issued on May 8, 2015, by then Regional Trial Court Judge Alma Binas Delfin of Branch 15 in Roxas City.
The court recommended no bail for the murder charge, while bail was set at PHP 24,000 for frustrated murder.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Pilar Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
