A 21-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed to death his cousin evening of Oct. 10 in Bingawan, Iloilo.
Police nabbed Renyel Pastrana, 21, of Barangay Quinangyana, Bingawan, in a hot pursuit operation in Dumarao, Capiz.
Pastrana allegedly stabbed his cousin, 31-year-old Dino Payas, around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday,
The two were on a drinking spree with Jhon Plaga and Cyril Compas at the house of Jefrey Payas prior to the stabbing episode.
They allegedly argued over some petty things.
Immediately before he attacked his cousin, Pastrana went outside to urinate.
When he went back inside the house, the victim approached him and asked in the vernacular, “Kas, bun-on mo gid ako?” (Cousin, do you really intend to stab me?)
It didn’t take long for Pastrana to indeed stab Dino Payas several times in the chest.
The victim was rushed to Calinog District Hospital but died of four stab injuries.
The suspect is now detained pending the filing of charges against him.
