BACOLOD City – A man stabbed himself after allegedly killing his uncle inside their house at Barangay Tangub here yesterday.
Mark Lowell Atienza, 34, is in critical condition after stabbing himself with a knife which he used on his uncle Ciriaco Pabalinas, 49.
Captain Armilyn Vargas, head of Police Station 8, said Pabalinas was preparing breakfast when Atienza allegedly stabbed his chest with a kitchen knife.
Atienza later stabbed his abdomen with the same knife.
Both of them were taken to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here, where Pabalinas was declared dead.
Vargas said the victim and the suspect had no altercation prior to the incident.
But she said that the suspect has not slept for eight days because of a family problem, which probably caused him to turn violent.
Vargas said murder charges will be filed against the suspect, who is still confined in the hospital.
