ROXAS City, Capiz – A 44-year-old man suffered 31 stab wounds inflicted by his cousin Monday evening at Sitio Matnog in Barangay Cabugcabug, President Roxas Capiz.
The victim was identified by the police as Eduardo Berbaño Alonio, while the suspect was Bernardo Alonio Berbaño, 29, both of said barangay.
According to PMSg. Raffy Villariez of President Roxas MPS, Berbaño got annoyed with Alonio after the latter punched one of their nephews.
A heated argument ensued between the suspect and the victim that prompted the former to get a knife and repeatedly stab the latter.
Alonio was taken to Bailan District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Berbaño did not flee and was turned over by the family to the police.
Reports said that the family will not file charges against the suspect.
