ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 40-year-old farmer was stabbed to death by his neighbor Sunday evening at Poblacion Ilawod in Dumarao, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Marlon Pasco of Barangay Calapawan also in Dumarao.
Investigation indicated that the police received information of a commotion at Poblacion Ilawod.
It was learned that the suspect identified as Jose Ronnie Calanza, 46, of said place was drunk when he figured in a heated argument with Pasco.
The suspect then drew a knife and stabbed the victim. The victim was brought to the hospital but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the police together with the knife he used in the killing of the victim.
The suspect is presently detained at the lock up cell of Dumarao police station while homicide charges will be filed against him.
The police eyed long standing grudge as motive for the incident.
