ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 32-year-old man was stabbed to death by his in-law Sunday evening at Barangay Cabangahan, Panitan, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Allen Ruel Abon, while the suspect was Jose Estopia Amaba, 63, both of said barangay.
Investigation by Panitan police indicated that Amaba was washing plates when Abon and the former’s son, Junie Amaba, 42, figured in an altercation.
Amaba tried to intervene but the altercation escalated.
Abon, who had a bolo tucked in his waist, tried to hack Junie but the latter’s father stopped him.
Amaba then grabbed a knife and stabbed Abon on the chest.
The victim was taken to Bailan District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Amaba voluntarily surrendered to the punong barangay of Cabangahan who then turned him over to the police.
