ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 46-year-old farmer died after he was allegedly stabbed by his two drinking buddies Monday evening at Purok 5, Barangay Acbo, Sigma, Capiz.
Sanito Arcelis was declared dead on arrival in a hospital due to fatal stab wounds on his abdomen, neck, chest, and back allegedly inflicted by Jesus Baranet of Brgy. Mianay, Sigma, Capiz and Romeo Altimo,19, also of Barangay Acbo, Sigma.
Investigation by the Sigma police station indicated that Arcelis allegedly went unruly at the house of Baranet where a birthday celebration was being held, thus he was sent home.
But a heated argument ensued between Arcelis and the two suspects until the former drew a knife. But one of the suspects managed to grab the knife.
Unknown to Arcelis, Altimo also had a knife which he used in stabbing the victim in the different parts of the body.
The suspects were arrested by the police after the incident and presently detained at the lock up cell of Sigma police station. Homicide charges were filed against them.
