BACOLOD City – Police have yet to determine the motive behind the killing of a man who was shot dead inside their rented house at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 here on Dec 25, 2021.
The victim was identified as Elmar Gayatin, 27, of Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.
According to the police, Gayatin was sleeping when his live-in partner left their house to buy cellphone load at a nearby store.
The victim succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and neck.
Police recovered from the scene three empty shells of suspected .45 caliber firearm.
Police are checking the background of the victim, who was reported not part of the drugs watchlist of Police Station 2.
