BACOLOD City – A man was gunned down by an unidentified perpetrator at a funeral wake in Sitio Candiacap, Purok Maghirupay, Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental last Tuesday.
Police identified the victim as Ridardo Cabison Jr., 40, of Barangay Nagasi, La Carlota City.
Investigation indicated that Cabison was watching card games in the wake when the gunman shot him in his nape.
The victim turned around to face the assailant, but he was reportedly shot again in his abdomen.
The victim fell to the ground but the gunman shot him again twice in the thigh and lower leg.
Cabison was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.
Police recovered from the scene two fired cartridges of .45 caliber ammunition. They are still probing the motive for the shooting.
