BACOLOD City – A man was gunned down by three unidentified men on a motorcycle at Sitio Plaza, Barangay Lemery, Calatrava, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
Killed was Dindo Villacorte, 28, of the said village.
Major Roberto Indiape Jr., town police chief, said the victim was sitting inside the shanty of a vulcanizing shop when the gunmen arrived.
One of them alighted from the motorcycle and shot the victim several times at close range, he added.
Indiape said the victim suffered six gunshot wounds and was taken to Calatrava District Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police recovered from the scene six fired cartridges case of .45 caliber ammunition and a deformed slug.
Indiape said the victim had previous records in the barangay. He also had a record for theft and was allegedly involved in a stabbing incident about two to three years ago, the town police chief added.
Indiape said they are eyeing grudges as the motive behind the killing. Police already have persons of interest in the case.
