BACOLOD City – A drinking session turned bloody when a man was shot to death by his relative who was also injured in the incident at Sitio Tinibawan, Barangay Bug-ang, Toboso, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
Killed was Elmo Mohillo, 30, while his distant relative Marlon Andales, 25, was seriously wounded according to a police report.
Lieutenant Kenneth Paul Magan, town police chief, said Mohillo and Andales figured in a heated argument while they were drinking with some neighbors around 5 pm.
Mohillo then drew his bolo and allegedly hacked Andales’ arm and leg, but the latter was able to run inside his house, where he took a homemade .357-caliber revolver, and shot Mohillo in the chest, Magan said.
Both of them were rushed to a hospital, where Mohillo was declared dead.
Andales was transferred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here.
Magan said grudges probably triggered the commotion between them.
Andales, who is now under hospital arrest, will be facing homicide charges, the town police chief said.
