BACOLOD City – An argument over burial benefits triggered a man to shoot his wife to death inside their house in Barangay Zone 10, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Thursday night.
The victim was identified as Jane Camoñas, 40.
According to the police, the suspect identified as 47-year-old Jacinto Camoñas came home drunk and figured in a heated argument with Jane.
The couple was reportedly arguing about the burial benefits of Jacinto’s father, who died in December 2022, based on the statement of their children who witnessed the incident.
A few minutes later, the suspect allegedly shot his wife’s head with an improvised shotgun.
Police recovered from the scene the gun with a 12-gauge ammunition shell.
The suspect was arrested and will be charged for parricide.
