BACOLOD City – A young man allegedly killed the lover of his live-in partner after he saw them in their house at Barangay 35 here last Thursday.
Police identified the victim as Ian Tigolo, 37, of the said village.
Major Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 1, said the suspect identified as 27-year-old Junary Canillas arrived at their house and caught the victim and his live-in partner sleeping in the room.
Canillas confronted his live-in partner and a commotion followed when he allegedly punched his partner and then shot the victim in the chest, according to Bonilla.
Bonilla said Canillas fled, leaving behind his partner and Tigolo.
Tigolo was declared dead at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here, the station commander said.
Bonilla said Canillas and Tigolo had a previous altercation because of the latter’s alleged relationship with the former’s partner.
Their case has even reached the barangay level, but this time, the suspect caught them again, according to Bonilla.
Bonilla said that witnesses in the area have identified the suspect, who is still at large. His live-in partner also fled after the incident, he added.
