ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 21-year-old man admitted selling illegal drugs because of the hardships brought about by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
John Mars Ondillo of Brgy. Tanque here said he was forced to sell drugs to survive. But he vehemently denied using illegal drugs.
Ondillo was arrested by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Capiz Provincial Police Office (CPPO) led by Police Lieutenant Mark Anthony Garcia in a drug buy-bust operation Monday afternoon at Barangay Culasi here.
Recovered from the suspect were three plastic sachets of suspected shabu, P15,500 marked money, another P100 cash and one unit cellphone.
According to Culasi Barangay Kagawad Enrico Joseph, Ondillo is a stranger in Culasi as nobody knows him.
The suspect is presently detained at the Roxas City police station while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against him.
