A 26-year-old man was found with multiple stab injuries on the different parts of his body evening of August 6 at Cabatuan, Iloilo.
The body of Cerasty Pancrudo was discovered around 10 p.m. Sunday on the roadside at Barangay Jelicuon Montinola, Cabatuan.
Captain Dionisio Estacio, Cabatuan police chief, said Pancrudo suffered two stab injuries on the left side of his chest, one on the right side of his chest, one on the side of his body, and on his arm.
Police learned about the incident around 10:20 p.m.
Responding police took the victim to Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Prior to the incident, Pancrudo went on a drinking spree with five other men at the house of Jonel Jordan, which is just 15 meters from where the victim was found.
Jonel claimed to have no knowledge of what happened to Pancrudo since he went to sleep earlier.
But on Monday, Pancrudo’s mother claimed to have received a call from Ronald Jordan, one of his son’s drinking buddies.
Ronald, a cousin of Pancrudo’s mother, admitted that he stabbed to death the victim.
But Ronald remains at large.
According to one of their companions, the two had a heated argument until it became physical.
The witness claimed he stayed to pacify the fight but their other companions scampered.
The witness claimed he could not figure out what triggered the fight.
