A 68-year-old man was arrested over an alleged sexual molestation incident that happened seven years ago.
Rogelio Alave was collared at his house at Barangay Tuy-an, Cabatuan, Iloilo at around 1:20 p.m. of August 17.
Captain Myles Dieron, Cabatuan police chief, said that Alave has a standing warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997).
Judge Gemalyn Faunillo Tarol of the Regional Trial Court Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on July 21, 2021. No bail was set for his temporary liberty.
Alave is Iloilo province’s ninth most wanted person.
Dieron said a 19-year-old woman is the complainant against Alave.
The victim filed the case on October 2015, but the incident happened August 2014.
She claimed that she was supposed to borrow a coconut grater from the suspect’s house. But Alave allegedly dragged her into his room and made sexual advancements on her.
Alave is now detained.
