ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 48-year-old man was arrested Friday in a drug sting operation inside a cemetery at Brgy. Banica here.
The Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) collared Ederisaldo Villaruz of Barangay Punta Tabuc.
Recovered from Villaruz were nine sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked money, a cellphone, and several drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was arrested and jailed in the past for the same offense but was released from jail after a plea bargaining agreement.
According to Police Lieutenant Mark Anthony Garcia, PDEU team leader, they have been following Villaruz’s movement for weeks before the operation.
Police estimated the total value of the seized illegal drugs at P30,000.
Charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against Villaruz who is presently detained at the Roxas City police station.
