Man nabbed for raping young kin

A 53-year-old man was arrested afternoon of May 25 for allegedly molesting his relative in Iloilo City.
Police identified the suspect as Steve (not his real name), a resident of Jaro district.
Members of the Iloilo City Police Station 3, together with personnel from the Iloilo City Police Office-City Intelligence Unit (ICPO-CIU), the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group-Visayas Field Unit and the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC), nabbed Steve around 1:48 p.m. Thursday.
He was collared by virtue of an arrest warrant for lascivious conduct under Section 5 (B), Art. III of Republic Act No. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act). The case against him is docketed as Criminal Case No. 23-89090.
He also has a standing arrest warrant for rape by carnal knowledge in CC No. 23-89091.
Judge Regina Centenera Galang-Guarin of the Regional Trial Court Branch 30 in Iloilo City issued the arrest warrants on May 24, 2023.
A P200,000 bail was recommended for the lascivious conduct case while no bail was set for the case of rape by carnal knowledge.
Captain Lester Oliveros, ICPS3 chief, said Steve is the ninth most wanted persons of Jaro district and eight in Iloilo City.
He was accused of allegedly molesting a 12-year-old relative in 2022.
