Man nabbed for P100k shabu

BACOLOD City A man was arrested for allegedly possessing P100,000 worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Linao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental Wednesday.
Police identified the suspect as Marty Mike Mahinay, 29, of Barangay Salong.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, city police chief, said Mahinay is a street level target in the list of the PNP Directorate for Intelligence.
Guadalupe said they conducted the operation after they learned that Mahinay allegedly intended to distribute drugs during the village fiesta.
But police refused to divulge Mahinays source of illegal drugs in the meantime.
Mahinay attempted to shoot the operatives, during the operation but was subdued.
Police recovered from him seven sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, the P100 marked money, and P2,545 in cash.
He also yielded a homemade .38 caliber revolver loaded with four pieces of live ammunition, and a motorcycle.
Charges for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs, illegal possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, and violation of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban will be filed against him.
