Man nabbed for illegal gun, drugs in Pilar

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 43-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning, Sept. 29, for alleged possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and illegal drugs during the implementation of two search warrants in Sitio Bat-os, Barangay San Ramon, Pilar, Capiz.
The Pilar Municipal Police Station, led by officer in charge Maj. Achilles P. Fangco Jr., together with personnel from the 1st Capiz Police Mobile Force Company, implemented the two search warrants at around 9:30 a.m. at the house of alias “Bambi,” a resident of the area.
The search warrants were issued Sept. 22, 2026, by Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Lorencito Belo Diaz of Branch 17 in Roxas City for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Police recovered nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, one .38-caliber revolver with three live rounds of ammunition, a black bag and two live rounds of 12-gauge shotgun ammunition.
The suspect and the recovered items were brought to the Pilar Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.
