ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 41-year-old man killed his younger brother Sunday afternoon at Purok 1, Barangay Manoling in President Roxas, Capiz.
The victim was identified as Arden Placer, 22, while the suspect was his older sibling Hardy Placer, both residents of said barangay.
Investigation by President Roxas police indicated that Arden went to Hardy’s store and confronted the latter.
Arden even threatened to hurt his 10-year-old son who was at the store.
Hardy warned his younger brother not to make trouble, but the latter ransacked the store and threatened to kill Hardy.
The irate Hardy then hit Arden with a piece of wood and a stone. Not content, the suspect drew a bolo and hacked his brother to death.
Police Lt. Herman Fuentes, President Roxas PNP chief, said Hardy voluntarily surrendered to the police station together with the village officials.
Meanwhile, the family has decided not to file charges against Hardy for the sake of his children.
