BACOLOD City – A man died while three others were wounded in a road collision at Barangay Recreo, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
Police identified the fatality as Edgar Balaod of Sipalay City.
Wounded were Balaod’s wife Jocelyn, tricycle driver Roque Pagsuberon of Valladolid town, and his unidentified passenger.
Police Captain Hancel Lumandaz, town police chief, said a motorcycle driven by Balaod was on its way to Bacolod when a tricycle loaded with mangoes allegedly overlapped on the opposite lane and crashed into the couple’s vehicle.
“Gin-cut daw sang tricycle ang motor, amo to nag-head-on sila,” he added.
The couple was wearing crash helmets, but the husband did not survive at the hospital while his wife is still confined.
Lumandaz said the tricycle driver and his passenger sustained minor injuries.
Pagsuberon is detained at the police station.
