BACOLOD City – A man died while his 17-year-old live-in-partner was injured after they were stabbed by two unidentified persons inside their house at Sitio Kangkong, Barangay Bagroy, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental last Saturday.
Police Lieutenant Charles Richard Casalan, deputy police chief of Binalbagan Municipal Police Station, identified the fatality as Miller Delavida, 21, while he withheld the name of the minor victim.
Casalan said the couple was sleeping when one of two suspects entered their house and suddenly attacked them while the other suspect served as lookout.
Armed with a knife, one of the suspects allegedly stabbed Delavida on his chest, back, arms, and head, while his partner suffered minor stab wounds on her arms.
Casalan said that Delavida was rushed to a hospital here where he later expired.
Casalan said they already have two persons of interest. In fact, one of them was a distant relative of the minor, based on the statement of the minor, who survived the knife attack, he added.
Police are eyeing grudges as the possible motive of the incident due to a recent misunderstanding.
“Gin target gid ni ang laki siguro kay may alitan man daw sila,” Casalan added.
Murder and frustrated murder charges will be filed against the perpetrators.
