BACOLOD City – A man died while his companion was wounded after they were hit by a wingvan truck at Bangga Padasas, Barangay Poblacion, Valladolid, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
Police identified the fatality as John Francis Jake Perez of Barangay Taloc, Bago City.
Wounded was Jerel Matias, 31, of Barangay Taloc, Bago City.
Investigation indicated that a truck driven by a 54-year-old man from San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan was tailing the motorcycle driven by Matias when it allegedly hit the latter’s rear part.
Both motorcycle riders suffered injuries and were taken to a hospital. But Perez later expired due to severe injuries.
The truck driver was placed under police custody, pending settlement and filing of case.
