BACOLOD City – A motorcycle driver died while his companion was wounded after they figured in a road accident in Barangay Bato, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental last Thursday.
Killed in the accident was Jonathan Felino of Barangay 4 while Thaddeus Dela Torre, 18, also of Barangay 4, was injured.
Police Captain Ryan Villasario, town police chief, said the victims were allegedly speeding on their way to Isabela town when they overshot the curve portion of the road.
Villasario said witnesses told the police that the victims were believed to be drunk, but police could not confirm it.
Felino was declared dead on arrival in a hospital, while Dela Torre suffered leg injuries and is confined in a hospital.
Both were not wearing helmets, according to Villasario.
