BACOLOD City – A motorcycle rider died while a tricycle driver was wounded after they figured in a collision at Purok Taho, Barangay Taloc, Bago City, Negros Occidental last Tuesday.
Killed in the accident was Joselito Selvano, 26, of Barangay Camugao, Kabankalan City while Jhick Tabjusay, 37, of Barangay Sum-ag here was wounded.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, Bago City police chief, said Tabjusay failed to notice the approaching motorcycle since the tricycle was following a bus.
Malong said Tabjusay was ferrying a female passenger when the accident happened. The 52-year-old passenger was unharmed, she added.
Selvano was declared dead on arrival at a hospital, while Tabjusay suffered minor injuries.
Malong said Selvano’s mother positively identified the remains of her son Wednesday afternoon.
Tabjusay was released from police custody yesterday, following an initial settlement with the victim’s family.
