Police identified the suspect as Edie Gumban, 54.
A hot pursuit operation was conducted until they sighted Gumban’s vehicle. But the suspect allegedly drove away when he noticed the police car running after him.
Gumban allegedly drew his handgun and pointed it at the police officers, prompting one of them to shoot the front and rear tires of the suspect’s vehicle to prevent him from escaping, according to a report from Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo).
Police then cornered the suspect, who was reportedly under the influence of liquor.
Gumban yielded a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine loaded with seven live ammunitions and an extra magazine loaded with eight live ammunitions.
