A 22-YEAR-OLD MAN died of apparent suicide evening of June 23, 2019 in Badiangan, Iloilo.
His attachment to his motorcycle may have pushed Toto (not his real name) to take his own life.
Toto tied a rope around his neck and latched it to the ceiling of their house.
His body was discovered around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Police Captain John Paul Guay, Badiangan police chief, said Toto’s family did not suspect foul play in his death.
They saw no other reason for him to take his own life but his distress over his motorcycle which got repossessed.
Myrna, his mother, said Toto was unable to pay for the motorcycle for five months. But his mother claimed they did it on purpose, as they were buying a new one.
They allegedly tried to talk it out with the victim but he was vocally against their plan.
In successive Facebook posts, Toto has repeatedly talked about losing his motorcycle.
His last post suggested that he would also go after losing his motorcycle. He ended it by saying, “I love you, all.”
A group in the Philippines is dedicated to addressing those who have mental health problems.
