A 30-year-old farmer remains at large after he allegedly hacked his father morning of September 11 at Janiuay, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspect as Allen Lindero, 30, a resident of Barangay Canaulli, Janiuay.
Staff Sergeant Jessie Caro, Janiuay police investigator, said the incident started when Allen asked his younger brother, Jesus Lindero Jr., to bring palay to a milling station.
But Jesus Jr. begged off claiming that he was tired.
Visibly irked, Allen allegedly took a sugarcane bolo and swung it at a basketball pole.
He then punched his brother in the abdomen.
When the victim Jesus Lindero Sr., 54, admonished Allen for what he did, the latter flared up even more.
The suspect allegedly hacked his father on the head and punched him in the mouth.
Allen immediately fled, bringing with him the bolo used in committing the crime.
Owing to the distance of the crime scene, it took a while before the victim received medical treatment at the Federico Roman Tirador Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Janiuay town.
Caro said the victim initially wanted to file charges against the suspect.
It can be noted that on Sept 8, another hacking incident between relatives happened at Sitio Bangon-Bangon, Brgy. Vista Alegre, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.
Renato Causing allegedly hacked his older brother, 43-year-old Rene Causing.
Both were drunk when the incident happened.
The victim suffered hack wounds on his back, left shoulder, and left arm.
