BACOLOD City – A man was hacked to death at Barangay Lumbia, Cauayan, Negros Occidental last Saturday.
The victim was identified as Roger Hermoso, 35, of the said village.
Investigation showed that Hermoso along with two others, who were armed with stones, went to the house of suspect Norberto Siarez, 46, of Barangay Acaba, and allegedly challenged the latter to a fight.
A heated argument then followed between Hermoso and Siarez, prompting the latter to allegedly hack the victim on different parts of his body, which caused his immediate death.
Siarez voluntarily surrendered to a barangay official the following day. He was then turned over to Cauayan Municipal Police Station where he is detained.
