Man hacked dead by two suspects

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 52-year-old farmer was hacked dead Monday evening at Sitio Centro Relis in Barangay Li-ong here.
Police identified the victim as Elias Guillermo while the suspects were Joel Perez, 40, also of said village, and George Ponesto, 49, of Barangay Bungsuan, Dumarao, Capiz.
Investigation by Police Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles of the Roxas Component City Police Station (RCCPS) indicated that the victim was found by a certain Pablito Dordas with several hack wounds in the different parts of his body.
The victim was brought by the Capiz Emergency Response Team (CERT) to a hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending doctor.
Police were led to the suspects after they found blood spatter leading to Perez’s house.
Perez was arrested at his house carrying two jungle bolos and a pair of bloodstained slippers while Ponesto was caught hiding near Perez’s house.
A murder charge will be filed against the suspects, according to the police.
