BACOLOD City – A man was shot dead by three unidentified men at Sitio Apitong Uno, Barangay Bi-ao, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental last Monday.
Slain was Blas Urbano Jr., 47, of the said village, according to the police.
Major Fernando Somblingo Jr., town police chief, said Urbano was walking from his residence towards his cousin’s house when he was shot.
The three perpetrators were probably hiding in the sugarcane field and waited for him to pass by, Somblingo added.
The victim suffered gunshot wounds in his head and back. He was declared dead in a hospital.
Police recovered from the scene two empty shells of .45 caliber ammunition.
Somblingo said they are eyeing grudges as motive in the killing, adding that the victim had enemies because of his attitude.
“Daw gina balewala siya even sang family niya kasi parang sutil,” he added.
