BACOLOD City – The Kabankalan City Police Station in Negros Occidental is probing the death of a man who was found inside a pension house at Barangay 9 last Sunday.
Police Lieutenant Joemel Salarda, deputy police chief of Kabankalan City Police Station, said the 51-year-old victim was found lifeless by a room boy after he failed to open the door when the latter knocked several times.
The victim checked in with an unidentified woman around 12:04 p.m. on March 20, 2021, but the woman left around 1:43 p.m. and did not return.
Salarda said the victim’s valuables were intact, which means there was no robbery.
Salarda said initially there was no foul play that happened since there were no signs of struggle, although he added that there was blood seen on the victim’s nose.
“Basi na stroke siya,” Salarda said.
He said they will request an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
