BACOLOD City – A man was found dead in a sugarcane field at Barangay Bi-ao, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental Wednesday.
Police identified the fatality as Rosito Merito, 33, of the said village.
Investigation indicated that Merito and his relative were allegedly chased and shot by unidentified armed men last Monday. Luckily, they evaded the bullets and escaped.
But Merito was found dead a few meters from his house two days after he was reported missing by his family.
The victim suffered two gunshot wounds on his back and right arm.
