Police identified the victim as Ronald Pelario, 31, of the said village.
Police Major James Latayon, city police chief, said Pelario was found lifeless on the road with a head injury.
Police recovered from the scene a 2×2 piece of hardwood which was found near the victim’s body.
Latayon said the wood may have been used by the unidentified perpetrator to kill Pelario.
Latayon said the victim reportedly came from a drinking session that night.
“Basta mahubog, gakakita siya kontra,” he added.
But Latayon said they are not sure if the incident could be linked to his drinking behavior.
