Man found dead in river

BACOLOD City – A 36-year-old man drowned to his death in a river at Sitio Lisboc, Barangay Vista Alegre, Ilog, Negros Occidental last Thursday.

Police identified the victim as Jerald Gatilago, 36, of Barangay Calubang.

Based on police investigation, the victim was seen sitting at the riverside late afternoon of Jan. 4. He was reportedly observed to be drunk, according to witnesses.

Police said the victim might have fallen into the river due to drunkenness.

He was found lifeless the following day and was taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
