Man faces homicide rap for killing resto chef

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A homicide case is being prepared against a man who stabbed dead a 26-year-old chef of a restaurant at Barangay Bunga, Mambusao, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Ezekiel Bacus of Barangay Esperanza in Jamindan town while the suspect was Juvy Barquilla, 39, of Barangay Bunga.
Police Staff Sgt. Ryan Villasis of Mambusao Municipal Police Station said they are waiting for the pertinent documents from the family and the results of the post-mortem examination before filing the case with the Provincial Prosecutors Office.
Police probe indicated that a commotion occurred around 10:20 p.m. Saturday while Bacus and Barquilla were drinking liquor with Reynaldo Licanto Lacson.
Barquilla then drew a knife and repeatedly stabbed Bacus who later died at Mambusao District Hospital.
Barquilla is now detained at the police station.
