Man Drowns at Roxas City Beach

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A man drowned while swimming at a beach in Barangay Baybay on Friday afternoon, January 3.
The victim, identified as alias Tibor, a resident of Barangay Lacaron in Dao, Capiz, could not be saved by rescue volunteers after he went missing for about 30 minutes.
According to alias Rhea, a food vendor in the area, she saw the victim struggling in the water and immediately informed his colleagues, prompting a rescue operation.
When bystanders retrieved the victim, his mouth was reportedly oozing with bubbles. He was rushed to the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital, where attending physicians declared him dead on arrival.
One of the victim’s companions said he had left Tibor at the beach earlier, only to be shocked upon learning about the incident.
Authorities later revealed that the victim was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
