BACOLOD City – A man died after reportedly eating a poisonous plant at Sitio Calatong, Barangay Cabadiangan, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.
Police identified the victim as Jessie Mallosa Jr., 24, of the said village.
Investigation showed that the victim was found lifeless by his brother inside his nipa hut. A tubli plant was also found beside the victim’s body.
The victim was believed to have taken the extract of the said plant last Monday to know its effect, according to his brother.
Police said while there was no sign of physical violence on the victim’s body, a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
