BACOLOD City – A man died while his cousin was seriously wounded after their motorcycle slammed into the door of a Catholic Church in Barangay 6, Isabela, Negros Occidental last Thursday.
Killed in the accident was Mark Gil Hilado, 20, while the wounded victim was identified as Raylen Hilado, 18, both residents of Barangay Camang-Camang.
Police Captain Ryan Villasario, town police chief, said the two victims attended their relative’s birthday when they met an accident on their way home.
Villasario said that Mark Gil was driving the motorcycle when he lost control over it while traversing the curved portion of the road, crashing into the wooden door of the Church.
“Medyo dasig ila dalagan papauli na kay nakainom man daw sila according sa ila relatives,” the town police chief added.
Villasario said the victims were thrown off from their motorcycle, while the Church’s door was destroyed due to the impact.
Both victims sustained head injuries and were brought to a hospital where Mark Gil was declared dead on arrival.
