A MAN died of apparent suicide morning of March 5, 2019 in Roxas City, Capiz.
Worse, Jaypee Capapas, 31, is believed to have killed his 3-year old son, Jairus, before committing suicide.
The incident was discovered 9:48 a.m. on Mar 5 at their house in Barangay San Jose. Jaypees auntDelia Capapas discovered his body in the kitchen.
He allegedly tied a nylon rope around his neck and latched it to the ceiling.
Delia then ran to their neighbors to ask for help.
When help came in, Delia checked Jairus inside his room, thinking that the child might be awakened by the incident.
But she was dumbfounded when she saw a nylon rope around the boys neck. When she checked, the boy was not breathing.
Jairus appeared to have been strangled.
Before the incident, Delia said she asked Jaypee to clean their front yard which he did.
Initial investigation showed that Jaypee may have killed his son before killing himself.
But Superintendent Dante Tayco, Roxas City police chief, said they cannot conclude that its a case of parricide-suicide as it remains unclear what triggered Jaypee to kill his own and later commit suicide.
Jaypees common-law wife works abroad. Together with his aunt, he was left to take care of Jairus.
