BACOLOD City – Police seized approximately 43 grams of suspected shabu valued at P292,400 during a buy-bust operation in Purok Makawiwili, Barangay Caradio-an, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental yesterday.
The police withheld the name of the 27-year-old suspect, a former hardware store employee.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Grande, the city police chief, stated that the suspect had been under surveillance for a month following reports of his alleged illegal activities.
Grande referred to the suspect as a street-level individual.
The suspect was also allegedly found in possession of an improvised firearm known as a ‘pin gun,’ which Grande suspects might have been intended for personal protection.
Additionally, police recovered P500 in marked money and a live .9mm caliber firearm cartridge from him.
Grande announced that drug charges, as well as an additional case for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, will be filed against the suspect.
